Privacy policy

This page explains what Tanro Music collects when you use the Site, what it is used for and what rights you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

1. What we collect

• Anonymous usage data: pages viewed, songs played, time, device/browser type, and country (derived from your IP address). We do not store your IP address or browser identification string in raw form; we keep only a one-way hash that cannot be traced back to you, used to count plays, views and people currently online.
• Member account (if you create one): email, display name, password (hashed, never stored in plain form) or your Google account identifier when you sign in with Google; plus your favourites and playlists.
• Interface choices (colour, language, effects, karaoke text size…) are stored in your own browser.

2. Cookies and browser storage

We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms, and browser local storage to remember interface choices. If Google Analytics or advertising is enabled on the Site, those services may set their own cookies.

3. How we use data

• To run the Site: play music, keep favourites and playlists, sign you in.
• Aggregate statistics: compute charts, learn which content is popular, detect abnormal traffic or bots.
• Security and abuse prevention.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Third parties

• Google (Google sign-in, and Google Analytics/advertising if enabled).
• YouTube (when you click to watch an embedded video; we use the youtube-nocookie mode and only load it when you click).
• Hosting and email delivery providers.

Each has its own policy for the data it processes.

5. Retention and security

Usage statistics are kept as long as needed for aggregate purposes. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. We apply reasonable technical measures (password hashing, stream encryption, restricted admin access), but no system is perfectly secure.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your account data, and you can clear data stored in your browser at any time by clearing site data. Please contact us through the “Contact” link in the footer.

7. Children

The Site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

8. Changes

When there are significant changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
